A Beautiful Weekend for
Plants and Purpose.

May 21, 2026

The InSpirit Plant Sale once again brought together gardner's, volunteers and supporters for a joyous Mother's Day weekend tradition that benefits people living with quadriplegia.

The annual InSpirit Plant Sale is always the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend for good reasons. It is not only the perfect moment for people to plant annual vegetables and flowers, but it gives those last minute folks a place to get great gifts for the moms in their lives, while helping people dealing with quadriplegia enjoy living in their communities with their loved ones, instead of in an institution.

This year the weather gods gave us lovely weather, the gardeners who donate to us, gave us a bounty of beautiful plants, and our volunteers were all smiles all day.  Besides the 7 people in the greenhouse crew, and the many home gardeners who grow for us, we had donations from Fairfax Hardware, Turtle Island Restoration Network, Indian Valley College's nursery,  the Lagunitas Community School, and Joe Brown of Rock Ridge Farms.

The plants came is all sizes--from a one inch hazelnut tree that will one day be much bigger, to Yuccas that already were over 6 feet tall.   We broke our record for varieties of tomatoes with 64 different kinds on offer!  Regulars went right to their favorite section, newcomers got help from our experts, Richard Gray and Avis Licht, who each wore signs on their backs saying "Ask Me"!

Between the main sale and several after sales, we brought in over $12,000.
